Nastia from Russia speaks about Explore Sri Lanka 7.0

Participation in the internship project “Explore Sri Lanka 7.0”  is really a life changing experience. To go there is maybe one of the best choices that one could ever make. Seeing this amazing country from a different perspective, namely by living in it, being part of a team, developing myself –this is what I have got from this internship.

Local people have impressed me a lot because I have never expected they would be so friendly and open minded. Unexpectedly, one can learn a lot just from talking with an unknown old man, standing next to an ancient statue, or be surrounded by many adorable and cheerful kids in school uniforms. So many differences, so much inspiration!

The AIESECers in Sri Lanka are truly awesome. They are always helpful, responsible, very friendly and kind. What should I say - I will miss them very much and I hope they achieve their life goals. When it comes to the things I have learned from the whole team, I now know how to say «I agree» in five languages; I have tried dishes from various cuisines, explored distant cultures by talking with people from all around the world and found their stories and jokes hilarious despite the expected differences in international humor. And I definitely will miss these guys as well.
